Newport Transporter Bridge - The Waterloo Hotel is a landmark of Newport's golden age, just like it's near neighbour, the world famous Transporter Bridge whose stately steel 'gondalas' still conveys traffic over the tidal River Usk as it has done for over a hundred years.

Tredegar House & Park - Within two miles of The Waterloo, Tredegar House is one of the finest examples of a Restoration house in Britain.  The building boasts wonderful architecture and superb grounds with special events held throughout the year.  Also a superb wedding venue.

The Newport Wetlands and Visitors Centre lies on the northern shores of the Severn Estuary, only a short drive from The Waterloo.  This award winning conservation area is worth a visit.  The 440 hectare area is attracting a wealth of wetland birds, giving the opportunity to see nature flourishing alongside Newport's industrial heritage.

Newport International Sports Village (NISV) - Housing the Wales National Veldrome, Tennis Centre, Swimming Pool and many other excellent sports facilities, the NISV is only minutes away from The Waterloo.

Cardiff Millennium Stadium  -  The Waterloo is an ideal base for an event at the Millennium Stadium, situated only 12 miles from Cardiff.  The hotel is 5 minutes away from Newport train station, a 10 minute train journey brings you within 200 metres of the Stadium.  The Stadium holds many events throughout the year, concerts, football matches, rugby matches, speedway, rally and many other well supported events.

Cardiff CIA (Cardiff International Arena)  - 

Located in Cardiff city centre, the CIA is one of the finest indoor venues in South West Wales.  Hosting a wide variety of concerts, conferences and sporting events, the venue is 4 minutes walk from the train station, which makes The Waterloo Hotel an ideal base for these events with the short train journey into Cardiff.  Below are a few examples held at the CIA throughout the year.
